Being a Teacher

I like to hear the word teacher from my students, and as teachers it is important to ask ourselves if we are real teachers. However, being a teacher is a challenging job where we can enjoy interpersonal interaction and benefit from the variety and diversity of students in the classroom. Teachers should search of what makes them good such as:

  • Building a positive classroom climate and strengthening the relationships of the teacher with the students that helps in engaging and in involving them in the class.
  • Questioning have to be answered in a clear way.
  • Having well planned lessons with the interesting materials.
  • Being organized and providing feedback for students to encourage them for improvement.
  • Dealing with students of different learning styles.

My hope for teachers to be considered as great professionals and not to consider teaching as semi-profession. It is really important to keep searching of ways for improvement and for assessing students' needs. Reflection for teachers is necessary to enhance knowledge and understanding the ways to promote knowledge. Teaching is like no other professions in my opinion.

  1. Really teaching is the most challenging job or we can consider it the hardest job. The teacher is building a new generation and she is dealing with variety of students from different cultures and backgrounds. She should be aware of how to act or deal with every one in the class. So, the advices above really help the teacher in being a good and perfect teacher and also we can always find new ways in interacting with our students and being up to date.

  2. As I have once told you, teaching makes people respect us most of the time. Even though teaching is such a challenging work and you might leave school crying sometimes, the looks and the progress you see within your students are worthy enough to make you feel better again. I never knew that teachers had that much responsibilities and as well that much POWER over their students until I became a teacher.
